Assessments of specific learning difficulties/dyslexia are offered face to face for children aged from 8 years to 16 years. Assessments are conducted in the Fleet office and can take between 2 and 3 hours.

The assessment begins by gathering background information through conversations and questionnaires to parents, school and the learner. The actual assessment session can take between 2 and 3 hours and I use a series of psychometric tests alongside observations of the learner. Having gathered all this information, a diagnostic decision is made. This is presented in a thorough report which includes recommendations on how to support the learner.

The assessment session, whilst rigorous is designed to be undertaken in a calm and reassuring way with plenty of breaks to support the learner.

It is my intention that the assessment process is enlightening for the learner and that they finish the session feeling understood, confident and ready for their next steps.
